Sir,
The recent flood in West Bengal caused serious devastation throughout the state. Hundreds of villages have been swept away killing men and cattle and rendering millions homeless. Standing crops have been totally destroyed. The total estimated loss stands at Rs. 50 crore. The sufferings of the victims know no bounds. In this hour of great tragedy what is needed is the unstinted help and support of the fellow countrymen. We, a registered charitable organization, are collecting funds to buy food, clothing and other relief materials for the affected people. Through this column we appeal to the people to contribute generously towards the relief fund. All cheques may be drawn in favour of Secretary, Nabarun Charitable Mission and sent to the above address.
