Sir,

      For some time past a band of anti-social elements have been operating in this area with impunity. They are usually active in the late hours of the night, holding up and robbing unwary passers-by. The other day a gentleman traveling in a rickshaw was seriously assaulted and dispossessed of his wristwatch and purse. Sometimes these ruffians travel in cars and break into houses situated in the outlying areas. The people of this area have become panicky. Several complaints have been lodged with the local police station but it appears that the police have not yet been able to cope with the situation.

    I hope you will please realize the sense of panic and anxiety with which we are passing our days, and would take suitable steps for dealing with these anti-social activities at an early date.
