Though its school, a nation should become conscious of the abiding source from which the best Movements in its life have always drawn their inspiration, should come to share the dreams of its Nobler sons, should constantly submit itself to self-criticism, should purge its ideals, should reform and redirect is impulse. The school must reflect those activities that are of greatest and most permanent significance in the wider world, the Grand expression of the human spirit. The school must be thought of primarily not as a place where certain knowledge is learned, but as a place where the young are disciplined in certain forms of activity.
